Jack Brighton and Lawson Gale have been together for six months and are very much in love. Lawson’s work ensuring the survival of the Tillman Copper is as demanding as ever, and Jack’s work with the regeneration of the bushfire-ravaged national park is just as hectic. When Jack suggests they take a short trip, Lawson agrees. But then he is offered a two-week research position in tropical Queensland to help determine why the Ulysses butterfly is on the decline. Figuring they could combine work and pleasure, Jack and Lawson go on their first vacation together. Working alongside renowned professor Piers Bonfils isn’t easy. But personal and professional differences aside, Lawson is offered a more permanent role in Queensland. Torn between his new life in Tasmania with Jack and a dying species of butterfly he feels compelled to save, Lawson has to decide where his fate lies. But fate changes the rules. On a research expedition into the depths of the rainforest, suddenly it's not only the butterflies’ existence that hangs in the balance. A butterfly’s life cycle never changes. From larvae to imago, their course is plotted by design. Jack and Lawson need to determine where they stand, if they live through it. Because the only thing more incredible than one imago is two.
Imagines Imago Volume 2 NR Walker 9781545149799 Books
Just like the first book, "Imago," this one follows a set plot which involves the adorable and fiercely independent lepidopterist Lawson getting tied up in a nearly impossible research task to save a butterfly species. His now boyfriend and fiercely devoted protector Jack comes into clearer focus in this one as the intrepid--and sometimes impetuous--Lawson gets into another heart-rendering situation right when you thought that this was going to be a clear sailing romance.
You know they are destined for each other, but Lawson is so cautious of taking a serious plunge into a deeper relationship with Jack that it's almost fun to watch him get all twisted and turned until he makes totally unexpected sexual demands on the bigger, stronger, and hunkier Jack.
Everything about this novella is spot-on and if not totally surprising then logical and delightful. Like the first in the series, it is also adoringly fierce as another example of the love author Walker has for the flora and fauna and foibles and people of Australia.
As such, this is a series that you can't afford to miss--and another reason to put N.R. Walker on your must-read list.

Imagines Imago Volume 2 NR Walker 9781545149799 Books Reviews
I loved the continuation of Lawson and Jack’s story. I learned a lot about flora and fauna too, lol. Never thought all the science terminology could hold my interest but it did. Oh, and the addition at the end of the book was a pleasant surprise. Can’t recommend this beautiful love story highly enough which is why Imagines (the plural of Imago) earned a heartwarming five butterfly kisses stars.
The continuing story of Jack and Lawson! Six months after the end of Imago finds our men working collectively to ensure the survival of the Tillman Copper and the regeneration of the bushfire ravaged national park. These two just fit, hand in glove. I love the physical strength of Jack and the softer seeming Lawson, until you see his spine of steel show through. Of course, there is a medical emergency involving poor Lawson again but this time it just shines a light on the strength of the love Jack has for his man. A huge fan of seeing what happens to characters after the last page has turned, this book made me just want more!
I was waiting to reconnect with two of my favorites MCs and see what story they will tell me... And I fell in love again with Jacob and Lawson.
Thank you .N.r. Walker for another beautifully written story it's perfection! And THANK YOU for the deleted scene!!
Jack and Lawson's story continues with a working holiday to Cairns. As usual the utterly adorable Lawson manages to get himself into trouble and thank goodness the dashing Jack is there to save the day. I love these two men and the world they inhabit. Learning about the Australian environment and it's flora and fauna was a fascinating backdrop to their beautiful love story. Highly recommended.
This sequel to Imago picks up a few months after the first book ends. Jack and Lawson are in a committed relationship, although still maintaining separate homes because Lawson thinks it's “too soon” for them to live together. An invitation to Cairns for Lawson to help save an endangered species of butterfly may be a chance for the two to spend more time together. Will vacationing as a couple make or break them?
“Imagines” continues the sweetly romantic story of the relationship between the geeky lepidopterist Lawson and park ranger Jack. This time around, there's a bit more tension, as there's a potential rival for Lawson's affection, and there's also a somewhat greater degree of drama.
As with the first book, the light dramatic touch makes the story seem more realistic. Jack and Lawson may seem almost too good to be true at times, but the arc their relationship still feels very much more true to life than your typical romance story. These are two likable characters that you will definitely continue to root for.
The ending of this book seems to draw a line under the main story of Jack and Lawson. It's been a nice, uncomplicated, story that probably wouldn't be enhanced by dragging it out.
Wow I left the first book wishing there was more to this wonderful couple and their story and Imagines certainly delivered in full! Again we go on a journey with Lawson's butterfly adventures and Jack supporting him along the way. The storyline was busy to me, certainly kept my interest going. Was a good topic selection. Overall this story wrapped up Lawson and Luke's life perfectly for me. And again cemented this author as one of my favourite MM writers.
It's official. I am in love with both Lawson and Jack.
One of the things I love the most about N.R. Walker's writing is how she can take such normal things, but make them so completely extraordinary.
I loved this.
I thought it fit well with Imago. Imagines seemed well-researched, though I'm no lepidopterist, with Jack and Lawson going to Queensland for a work vacation and Lawson trying to determine why the Ulysses butterfly keeps dying so soon after imago.
I loved the dual POV, and, best of all, I loved how beautifully romantic it was throughout.
“Jack, there are species of Lepidoptera all over this world, but there are none―none―like those I experience when I’m with you. You are quite possibly the most perfect man, with the kindest heart, and you make me strive to be a better person. And this here—”I looked around us, the Tasmanian countryside, Rosemary off sniffing around the garden, this perfect piece of life. “It’s everything I want for the rest of my life. I want to grow old with you, right here.
I just loved it! This series, like many of Walkers' series, has just been a joy to read.
